Character and Sexuality Programs

There is a growing awareness in higher education that matters of personal character and responsibility must be applied to sexual behavior. In addition to providing students with information about STDs or sex-related problems such as date rape and sexual harassment, a growing number of campus-based programs encourage students to reflect on the emotional, psychological, and moral aspects of sexuality. Students learn to appreciate and apply the core virtues of self-control, respect, responsibility, and integrity in their relationships with others. In short, these exemplary programs emphasize the dimension of character development.
