Recent Character Development Grants in the area of Primary/Secondary Education

Character Education Partnership.
A major grant to implement a National Schools of Character Program designed to build national awareness for the importance of character development in elementary and secondary schools. The program will result in a national easy-to-use-and-read publication that showcases outstanding "best practices and models of excellence" that schools and K-12 educators can put to work.

Center for the 4th and 5th Rs.
A major grant to support a variety of the Center's activities, including its annual Character Education Conference and the Center's widely-distributed newsletter. The Center is under the direction of Professor Thomas Lickona, author of the award-winning book Educating for Character.

The Communitarian Network.
Multi-year support to help underwrite the Network's annual Conference on Character Building in a Civil Society, held in Washington, D.C.

Phi Delta Kappa.
Multi-year support to establish A League of Value-Driven High Schools throughout the United States.
- Florida Newspapers-in-Education.
A grant to support the research and writing of a character development "insert" and curricula to be distributed to high schools throughout the state of Florida.
